What inspired you to pursue the field or cause you’re passionate about?
I can’t remember the day when I did not love Opera! Having grown up with parents who were both avid opera goers who blasted Leontyne Price singing Tosca every weekend on the family record player, I was inspired to pursue a career as a collaborative pianist who specializes in coaching classical singers. It’s not every American who has the desire to run
to the Theater and hear a foreign language sung with an orchestra! As the Artistic Director of the Pasadena Vocal Competition, my goal is to bring opera to all within our community and to provide financial support to further the careers of the next generation of operatic talent.
How do you hope to inspire or empower the next generation of women?
Our Board of the PVC consists of mostly women, all who have degrees in vocal performance, and are leading educators in this great Art Form. We take immense pride in enriching the cultural landscape of Pasadena with our passion for classical singing.
